I took a Sensors and Actuators class during the spring 2019 semester and had to design a system utilizing the concepts discussed in class. My partner and I built a smart door lock prototype for individuals with limited mobility.

When a raspberry pi camera and sensor detected motion, a notification would alert the user that someone is outside of the door. The notification would include an image of the individual.

This system could be used to notify users of intruders or guests at the door. If the user wished to open the door for a guest after the notification, another application could unlock the door while activating a buzzer.
